Hopeless-

Aella's Perspective

My eye's refocused in a cave, Sophos, Mab, and a green-haired boy with the eyes of the serpent Attor, were all waiting for me to awaken.
"Ah, she's awake. Attor, restrain her."  Sophos commanded.
Attor glanced at Mab; but did as he was told.
I would have killed Attor right then and there, but my powers weren't working for me, I looked down and realized they had taken my necklace; it would be imperceptibly hard to summon my powers now.
"What… What do you want from me?" I managed, barley able to look at my captors.
"Your allegiance or your powers, that's all." It was an unfamiliar voice that time.
"Ah, you haven't met my younger brother, Paian of the Rivers." Sophos stepped aside and a wizard that seemed around my age came walking up in an extremely haughty attitude.
"You shall never have either from me.' I said, coughing up blood when Mab struck me with a rock in my gut.
"Mab, easy. Calm down." Attor said, they hooked eyes for a moment, and then looked back at me.
"Then we shall have your friends lives, one by one." Sophos hissed angrily. "Sophia, if you would mind doing the honors. "
Sophia, the Love Witch, came smiling from the back of the room.
"Of course I shall." She smiled at Paian more than Sophos, but held out her hands and a swirling sparkle of purple mist appeared, the moving picture of Xene showing.
"No!" I managed. I had never felt so weak.
"Then your powers, please." Paian hissed.
"You would have to kill me first." I spat blood into his face.
"Perfect." Sophos growled. Mab, chain her to the rods.
They dragged me by my chains into a room that contained two separate metal bars, my feet were chained to the top rod, my feet to the bottom, they let me hang in pain by my wrists for a moment before Sophos snapped his fingers and Mab took hold of the right end of the top rod and let electricity coarse through my body.
I have never felt anything so painful.

Xene's Perspective

I scanned through Book Magna Blanda, The Great Witching Book, I knew the type of spell I wanted, but not where it was in the Book Magna Blanda.
Towards the end of the Magna I found the right spell.
To Find Who has Been Taken.
"Permissum illa vox peto reperio unus ut has been captus ex meus os. Permissum illa vox peto reperio unus ut has been captus ex meus os. Permissum illa vox peto reperio unus ut has been captus ex meus os." I repeated it over and over until the deerskin I had stretched out in front of me faded in an image of Aella.
Sophos and his younger brother, Paian of the Rivers, Attor in his human form, and Mab.
"Oh holly Divinities!" I was careful about mentioning names ever since I had gotten a visit from Perdere.
Mab was electrifying Aella, and there was Sophos, standing in the back, almost hidden.
The traitor.
To make matters worse, she was one of the Five!
"Khryseis!" I screamed, jumping back when I realized that Aella wasn't wearing her necklace.


There were to many guests at the party, no dragons, to many wizards and elves.
That's when I noticed Korval.
"Korval, hello." I smiled, curtsying to him.
"Lady Xene, how are you?" Korval smiled, kissing my hand.
I saw Judas in the crowd, and I was fighting a blush.
"Not well, Aella has been taken prisoner by Sophos, Paian, Mab, Attor, and Sophia." I sighed, I had to play the downtrodden damsel if I was to get information out of him.
"Truly? Did you know that I was once in Sophos' services?" Korval had a shocked look on his face.
"No, I did not." I shook my head innocently.
"Would you like to enter a private room to continue our conversation?" Korval asked kindly.
"Yes, I would." I nodded, walking into the door he was holding open for me.
"Sophos has no idea where I am, actually." Korval said, shutting the door behind himself.
"Would you mind telling me anything you know about Sophos, please?" I asked sweetly.
"No." Korval shook his head simply.
"Why not?" I said angrily.
"I only tell my secrets when I get what I want." Korval said, moving closer.
"That is selfish." I said, my heart pounding in my ears.
I loved Judas, but I had to save Aella.
